Red Dragonfly Counselling

Services

Counselling can address a wide range of issues, offering a space to explore anything causing emotional pain or discomfort. Through active listening and empathy, I aim to build a strong therapeutic relationship, providing the safety you need to navigate and heal from difficult feelings or situations.

My training includes:

  • PG Diploma in Integrative Counselling
  • Post Qualifying Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People
  • Diploma in Sandplay
  • Safeguarding Children & Young People
  • Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling
  • Advanced Diploma in Counselling Supervision
  • I also have an up-to-date DBS check

Working with Young People

I understand that young people often find it hard to express their feelings. By incorporating creative therapy methods, I make this process easier, using approaches beyond talking that can open emotions and help guide them through their challenges. I am committed to tailoring therapy to everyone, aiming to create a comfortable environment where they can share their story.

Confidentiality is crucial in counselling. For young people under 18, what is shared stays between us unless:

  • You tell me you are being hurt or are hurting someone.
  • You plan to hurt someone.
  • You ask me to share something.

If it would be helpful for a parent or guardian to know something you've shared, I will discuss it with you first. With your agreement, we can decide together how to share that information.

Examples of issues

Counselling can help with a variety of concerns. Some of the issues I have worked with include:

  • Anxiety
  • Self-Esteem/Confidence
  • Anger
  • Loneliness
  • Self-Injury
  • Suicidal Thoughts
  • Relationship Issues
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Bullying
  • Domestic Violence
  • Abuse
  • Sexuality
  • Bereavement & loss
  • Trauma

There is no set agenda for what clients can bring to a counselling session. While some clients may come with a specific issue, others may simply feel that they are not as happy as they could be in life. If an issue is affecting you in any way, it is important to me.
